Freeride 2-Day is designed for strong freeride skiers who wish to focus on all mountain skiing and refining skills in the terrain park with an eye toward traveling to competitions in the Intermountain West. Coaches will focus on good decision making, positive self talk, work ethic, perseverance, task oriented skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. They will encourage the use of imagery and visualization. Dryland training is recommended through Teton Indoor Sports Academy with workouts that include gymnastics, trampoline and resistance work including bands, medicine balls, etc. Athletes and parents should plan on signing up for IFSA competitions.
Ages: 10 – 19 years old.
Skill Development Focus: Emphasis will be on responsible and realistic decision making in big mountain scenarios and technical tricks. Focus on technique and proper movement patterns. Ability to execute a carved turn and exploring inverted trampoline and skiing skills. Fundamental inverted jumps may be introduced with focus on form and consistency in trampoline setting before executing in big mountain terrain.
Skill Requirements: Athletes should be comfortable skiing terrain parks, and all mountain skiing, including Peaked.
Competition: IFSA focused specifically comps at Grand Targhee Resort, Big Sky, and Snowbird.
Schedule/Sessions: Saturdays and Sundays 8:30am-2:30pm for 16 weeks December 7, 2019 – March 22, 2020.
Program Fees: $1,495 for Saturday and Sunday
Ski Passes: Pass prices are not included in program fees. Grand Targhee season passes must be purchased directly through Grand Targhee Resort.
Transportation: Not included.

- Skis: one pair of all mountain skis, potentially another pair of pow skis
- Boots: Proper fit with good flex
- Protection: Head (helmet) required. Teeth (mouth guard) protection recommended
- Poles: With pole tip in snow, arm should be at 85 degrees
- Avalanche equipment-Beacon, shovel, probe, ski carry back pack.
