Program Description
The Cross Country Ski Recreation program is often a child’s first experience on skis. Athletes will ski one or two day(s) a week at at the Alta Track (offered Tuesdays & Thursdays). Focus on fun on snow with games and play to enhance skier’s enjoyment and skill on snow. Focus on proper body position through ski play; understanding the importance of teamwork and fair play. Introduction of aspects of Skate and Classic technique and basic fitness training, as well as a general appreciation of and respect for cross country ski equipment.
Ages: 5-6 (must be in kindergarten at least)
Skill Development Focus: Emphasis will be on play, fun, skiing, enjoyment and balance, basic agility and coordination.
Skill Requirements: None
Competition: Games on snow, Alta Vista Race.
Schedule/Sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays for 9 weeks, January 5, 2021 – March 4, 2021 from 4-5pm at Alta Track.
Program Fees:
Two day - $175, price increases to $180 on December 1st
Registration Deadline - December 20th
Ski Passes: None required, but the purchase of TVTAP Nordic Pass to support grooming is encouraged.
Transportation: Not included.

Work Deposit and Family Participation: Positive parental support is essential. Families are encouraged to get involved with club activities and participate in at least one training session a month.

Equipment:
- Skis: one pair of waxless skis, soft flex and between nose and forehead height.
- Boots: boots that are comfortable and warm.
- Poles: one pair of poles for all techniques, or skis with no poles. Poles should fit snugly under the armpit.
- Ancillary Equipment: Clothing should provide appropriate protection from the elements and keep children comfortable for extended periods of skiing to ensure enjoyment of sport. Eye protection recommended.

Program Fee Refunds 2020-21 Season Only for COVID-19 Considerations:
- TVSEF will offer full refunds up until November 1st for any family who is no longer comfortable with their child participating.
- TVSEF will offer partial refunds to any family who is no longer comfortable with their child participating at any point in time. TVSEF will retain 30% of the participant’s program fee for administrative fees plus an additional prorated fee for the period the athlete participated in the program. If the athlete participated in 70% of the program, no refunds will be given.
- TVSEF will offer partial refunds should programming be cut short as a result of COVID-19. TVSEF will retain 30% of program fees for administrative fees plus an additional prorated fee for the period the program was able to continue.
